Janis Black Warner is a Director of The Stanley & Joyce Black Family Foundation. She is an independent real estate investor who enjoys restoring old duplexes.
She has a long history of involvement with Vista Del Mar spanning over 34 years. Janis has served on Vista’s Board of Directors for 11 years, and was recently nominated to the position of Board Secretary. She was awarded the prestigious Vista Del Mar Women of Excellence Visionary Award. She held one of the first positions for a woman as President of the President’s Club and President of the Friends of Vista Del Mar. Her strength is fundraising.
In addition, Janis studied business management at USC and worked several years in business affairs at HBO. She is also an entrepreneur. Janis had her own store on Robertson called PillowTalk Studio in Beverly Hills. A unique boutique featuring her private label down comforter’s & pillows.
She has served on many non-profit boards including ORT, a VP of Technion, The Cabinet for The Women’s Division of The Jewish Federation and honored as Woman of Valor. She is a board member of The Beverly Hills Police Foundation, involved in Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Miracle Babies/San Diego. She has a speaker series named after her at (NAMI) The National Alliance of Mental Illness and a passion to get rid of the stigma.
Janis is married to Douglas Warner. They treasure their children, Jason & Liz Goldman, Jennifer Goldman, Joey Goldman & Jake Warner.
Sandy and her family moved to Los Angeles in 1968. Her past and present affiliations include: past president and current board member of UCLA Hillel and Los Angeles Jewish Symphony; past president of Los Angeles Israel Tennis Centers; board of American Foundation for Jewish Culture; Palm Springs Friends of the Philharmonic; Palm Springs Art Museum President’s Circle; Tower Cancer Research Foundation. She received her BFA and MA degrees in dance from Ohio State University. She is married to Dr. Robert and they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
