Education is one of the cornerstones of BODYTRAFFIC’s mission. While we love entertaining and challenging audiences intellectually, we also take great pride in training the next generation of artists. BODYTRAFFIC offers fully immersive programs designed for various ages and levels to achieve artistic and technical breakthroughs, including master classes, workshops, residencies, and an outstanding Summer Program. The company aims to be the catalyst for change in dancers of all levels, exposing them to groundbreaking new movement and helping them navigate ambitious and diverse styles.
BODYTRAFFIC’s Summer Program is one of the most cutting-edge and sought-after professional advancement opportunities for dancers in the nation. Open to dancers age 18+, it is a unique opportunity to discover the working atmosphere and progressive philosophies of LA’s most vibrant contemporary dance company. Each year, 30 hand-picked dancers travel from across the globe to train with BODYTRAFFIC faculty and Guest Artists from internationally recognized dance companies in an unparalleled intimate setting.
BODYTRAFFIC’s Teen Summer Dance Intensive is ideal for young dancers (ages 13-17) who are seeking extraordinary, rigorous dance instruction that will take their training to the next level. During the Teen Intensive, participants receive personalized attention from Artistic Directors and company members including private coaching, mentorship, and college application preparation. The program allows for pre- and young professionals to absorb the company’s fresh methods and innovative choreography that is imperative for contemporary dance today.
“This was like no other program I’ve experienced. The amount of personal attention I received and being able to take class alongside BODYTRAFFIC company members is something I’ll never get over, in a good way!” – Vincent Maizland
“It was my first summer intensive and I didn’t know what to expect. I learned so much in such a short amount of time. As one of the youngest dancers, I was challenged the whole time, yet always encouraged. Thank you for everything BODYTRAFFIC!” – McKenzie Corrales
