BODYTRAFFIC is dedicated to mentoring students and benefiting the health and inclusion of differently abled and underprivileged individuals, with a particular interest in helping youth reach their fullest potential.
While it was once typical to hold one master class per engagement while on tour, the company is now able to offer major programming that connects BODYTRAFFIC with communities beyond just performances. Outreach now entails customized experiences that share dance and deepen the impact of BODYTRAFFIC’s mission with people of all ages, demographics, and abilities. Through dance classes, workshops, rehearsal access, lecture demonstrations, and performance opportunities BODYTRAFFIC positively interacts with, mentor and teach others, thus helping to build confidence, gain an understanding of self-awareness and how to communicate through dance.
BODYTRAFFIC can customize any length of educational experience lasting from 1 hour to an extended period of 6 weeks in almost any style including but not limited to: technique, improvisation, composition, site-specific creations, repertory, mixed-ability experiences, or a combination of activities.
Some of BODYTRAFFIC’s most profound and meaningful work has been leading specialized dance workshops for multi-abled individuals. The company’s experienced team is dedicated to providing safe and inspiring learning atmospheres that celebrate the healing power of dance. These programs are integral to BODYTRAFFIC’s mission to share dance with as many people as possible, and helps the entire community grow as artists.
